Westlink managed the full end-to-end logistics management for the delivery of new locomotives from various factory locations in Canada and USA to landing the locomotives on track in Port Hedland, Western Australia.

Scope

  • Pre-shipment quarantine inspection and cleaning of locomotives 

  • Rail haulage – locomotive factories in Canada and USA to nearest capable port 

  • Heavy Lift Vessel (HLV) – Toronto, Canada or Norfolk, USA to Port Hedland, Australia 

  • Heavy haulage – from vessel hook to customer’s Port Hedland rail yard 

  • Craneage – lifting and landing of locomotives from heavy haul trailers to rail head
