Urgent Conveyor Belt deliveries - Shanghai to Dampier

Westlink was contacted by a Customer, one of the biggest mining companies in the world, with the urgent requirement to deliver nine (9) conveyor belts from Shanghai, China to a mining operation in Dampier, Australia. The belts were required to replace existing belts that were on the brink of failure which would cause heavy losses in production. Our Customer requested that all options be explored including heavy air charters. Westlink managed to put all reels on a breakbulk vessel two days after the initial request with a direct sail from China to North West Australia. This option was significantly more cost effective than heavy air charters but also met the tight delivery window. All reels were safely delivered and in time for their replacement.
