Pilbara Iron Ore Heavy Haul Locomotives

Westlink has successfully delivered eight (8) used heavy haul locomotives from Iowa, USA to Port Hedland, Australia. These locomotives were shipped via Heavy Lift Vessel, followed by heavy haulage to the customer’s rail yard for on track delivery using gantry craneage.

Services provided by Westlink included:

• Origin services – rail pull from factory to port, pre-shipment inspections and stevedoring

• Ocean Freight via Heavy Lift Vessel – Norfolk, USA to Port Hedland, Australia

• Destination services – stevedoring, laydown management, heavy haulage to site and gantry lifting to rail head
