West Angelas Iron Ore Project

Westlink has successfully completed the final shipment of large bin sections, trusses and structural steel for the Rio Tinto West Angelas Project.  The steel sections were fabricated in Tianjin, China and shipped via Heavy Lift Vessel to Port Hedland, Australia. This final delivery was the last of four consecutive shipments. From Port Hedland, all steel was transported by heavy haulage to the West Angelas mine site for construction and commissioning works.

Services provided by Westlink included: 

• Origin services – pre-shipment inspections, stevedoring and laydown management

• Ocean Freight via Multipurpose and Heavy Lift Vessels

• Destination services – stevedoring, laydown management and heavy haulage to site
