Pilbara Iron Ore Heavy Haul Locomotives

Westlink has recently completed the end to end transportation of six (6) SD70 Locomotives for one of the heaviest rail haul operations in the world, managed by one of the biggest global mining companies. The locomotives were rail hauled to Norfolk, USA, where they were loaded onboard a heavy lift ship and delivered to Port Hedland to be transported and unloaded to the mining company’s rail yard.

Services provided by Westlink included:

• Origin services – Pre-shipment inspections, gantry operations and cleaning

• Ocean freight

• Destination services – heavy haulage and unloading at rail yard
