Westlink managed the turnkey end-to-end logistics of stick and modular steel fabrications from Tianjin and Qingdao, China to Bass Point in NSW, Australia for an expansion project at Hanson’s Bass Point Cement Quarry.

SCOPE

  • Pre-shipment inspections at fabrication yards in Tianjin and Qingdao, China

  • Multipurpose Vessel (MPP) – Tianjin and Qingdao, China to Port Kembla, Australia

  • Oversized Haulage – Port Kembla to Bass Point, Australia

  • Construction coordination – coordination with site team to unload trailers into laydown

Mining Specific Logistics

HIGHLIGHTS

  • 15,000 cubic metres (cbm) of steel with heaviest lift 150 metric tons

  • Four (4) consecutive breakbulk and heavy lift shipments

  • Transport of oversized pieces through built up urban area to project site

  • Management of staging yard to effectively coordinate deliveries to project site

  • Delivery to installation points and laydown at Bass Point Quarry project site
