PROJECT OVERVIEW

Westlink was engaged to provide a multimodal logistics solution for 35 kilometres of 3LPE coated line pipe from Kuantan Henderson, Australia. The line pipe was required for an upgrade to a section of the Dampier Bunbury Pipeline (DBP). The DBP is critical infrastructure that delivers gas to residents and industry of Western Australia.

SCOPE

  • Pre-shipment quarantine inspection at coating yard in Kuantan, Malaysia

  • Multipurpose Vessel (MPP) – Kuantan, Malaysia to Henderson, Australia

  • Haulage, unloading and marshalling – delivery of line pipe within port limits at laydown yard

  • Zero LTIs

  • 14,000 cubic metres (cbm) of pipe delivered

  • Specialised vessel selection used for 8 consecutive breakbulk shipments

  • Design and assembly of ‘floating’ dunnage floor for damage-free stowage

  • Marshalling yard management including sensitive pipe handling and laydown

  • Zero damage to sensitive pipe coating in handling and stow
