Westlink delivers final shipment of structural steel modules from China to the Pilbara

Westlink has successfully completed the final shipment of structural steel, trusses, ROM bins and a massive apron feeder over multiple consecutive shipments. Westlink managed the end-to-end transportation of the modules from Tianjin and Shanghai, China to Port Hedland, Australia and then onto site, where the mining equipment is to be used in the construction of Rio Tinto’s Western Turner Syncline 2 Project.

Services provided by Westlink included:

  • Origin services – pre-shipment inspections, heavy haulage and stevedoring

  • Ocean Freight via Multipurpose & Heavy Lift Vessels

  • Destination services – stevedoring, heavy haulage and laydown management
